Everyone is welcome to come fishing with the FREE lunchtime fishing group - The Downtown TriAnglers - we will meet every Wednesday at lunchtime at Point State Park. It is a little known fact that Pittsburgh’s rivers are now so clean that there are great fishing opportunities right here Downtown. So to celebrate the great fishing the Western Pennsylvania Field Institute is sponsoring a weekly fishing get-together. Karen Gainey, local fishing pro, will be on hand to help the novice and expert alike to learn more about this great Downtown destination and possibly land a trophy catch.

Each week we will focus on different fishing techniques and cover the in-and-outs of gear, tackle and bait. To add even more excitement to the event we will take a photo and measure the size and weight of all the fish caught and whoever catches the most fish at the end of the season wins a cool prize (prizes still to be determined). All you need to bring is a valid fishing license and we will supply the rods and bait. So, if you are new to fishing, a long time expert or have never even put a hook in the water, come join us down at the Point and discover what could be the only weekly urban fishing group in America!
